The building in which the restaurant resides in – Chui Huay Lim Club – is steeped in history. Originally built in 1845 during the Qing Dynasty, the club was where Teochew migrants – particularly businessmen – from China would congregate. Now, within Chui Huay Lim Teochew Cuisine, fresh ingredients are a staple in over 150 Teochew dishes that the restaurant serves. Its vast dining hall houses traditional Chinese musical instruments which accompany the eatery’s contemporary decor. Patrons may dine on signature dishes like its Teochew cold crab, Teochew pig’s trotters jelly, deep-fried traditional Teochew liver rolls, and roasted suckling pig.
