About Underwater World Singapore

An institution in interactive learning of underwater critters since 1991, Underwater World Singapore is a family-friendly oceanarium that introduces guests to life below the sea. Explore the aquarium’s 10 exhibits that begin with its interactive zones allowing one to touch and watch aquatic antics up close. Near the entrace is the Touch Pool where the likes of mild banded bamboo sharks, starfish, porcupine fish, and archerfish are housed. There is also the MAGIC-T tank designed with openings on the sides that allow visitors to feed the fishes in the enclosed tank without the possibility of getting splashed.

Experience an amalgamate of colours at the reef exhibit as the animated creatures that live within the nooks and crannies of a coral reef imitate the colour palates of its proverbial home. Look out for the shy Harlequin shrimp, a vicious predator that shows off red polka dots on pink shell, or marvel at the alien-like appearance of the rhinopias scorpionfish. Another popular attraction is the Turtle Pool. Located outside the main entrance, it is home to a few highly-endangered species including the hawksbill turtle, loggerhead turtle, green turtle, and olive ridley turtle. With some of the turtles being rescued from illegal traders, the Turtle Pool is a collaborative conservation project with Nanyang Technological University where its inhabitants are being rehabilitated for reintroduction into the wild.

Arguably, the Dolphin Lagoon is one of the most popular attractions here. Amid a landscape of verdant flora is where one will find the spacious aquarium, built with state-of-the-art facilities that afford a closer encounter to these creatures of lore as they pull off aquatic and aerial moves. The Meet the Dolphins and Fur Seals sessions allow guests to personally interact with these intelligent mammals of the ocean including the star of the exhibit, the pink dolphins.
